Read this post second!

Please read this post after reading "It's like a roller coaster" :)

We started the day off with breakfast at the hotel. It didn't take much of a car ride for the boys to fall asleep so we decided to go out of our way a bit to see something else so they could sleep for a little while longer. We decided to go to a national park to see some European bison. They were pretty neat. It's amazing at how big the animals are, even the babies (calves). Then we continued on to the roman ruins. These were amazing. It was pretty much a field with all parts of an old roman city in it. We saw houses, a stadium, the financial offices, and the town center with a fountain, and vaults. It was cool because you could just walk through everything. There weren't any restrictions. Of course you don't jump on anything but still to be able to sit in the stadium or touch the pillars was pretty neat. I was told that the structures there were over 2000 years old. We then went  to the Castle. If you google Huniazilor Castle that is the one I saw. It was incredible. Absolutely unbelievable. It was so big and just awesome. Once again you could just lead yourself around at your own pace which was nice. Most of the rooms were on display besides a few that were under construction. There was a couple getting their wedding pictures done there and which I'm sure will be beautiful. Here is a link for information: http://see-romania.com/corvin-castle-hunedoara/ I would have really liked to get a few senior pictures taken there but I wasn't looking very good today with the not changing clothes and everything. It was all good until Linda fell and sprained both her ankles. When we got back into Cluj the boys and I went to their grandmothers apartment so that Linda and Andi could get X-rays at the hospital. Luckily it didn't take long so we were home by 8 but Linda can't walk for 3-4 days so her father-in-law is coming over to help me with the boys tomorrow. I won't be going to the school because the teacher isn't able to make it. Pray a quick recovery for Linda because it will be a tough few days with her not being able to walk.

  1. I can't believe how many experiences you are having already there in Romania. It sounds so exciting. I hope that Linda gets on her feet really soon. It will be hard for her and you too. We will keep her in our prayers too. Sounds like you are having quite an experience there. Enjoy your time there, it will go by so fast. It is warm here today. Nice and sunny. So we had a nice Sunday. See you soon. Ed and Joyce

  2. Wow, we are getting more and more jealous by the day! Way to be adventuresome Beth. Who cares if you sleep and wear the same clothes the next day? That's all part of the adventure. We looked up a link about that castle and included it in your blog post. It looks huge!!

We have a busy week this week. I am working extra hours (couple of people on vacation). Thankfully I have Friday off, but will be working long days the other four days. I will be working Mon, Tue & Thu til 8/8:30.

At least I started packing this weekend. I think I have most of my stuff packed and my suitcase is only 1/2 full. I think I am getting better at this packing process.

Dad works every day of course and then has a ball game on Monday night and a church meeting on Tuesday night so this week is going to fly right by.

So sorry to hear Linda fell and sprained her ankles. I hope it's not too bad and she is able to get up and around soon. We will pray for her.

Take care. See you in 8 days!

    Love, Mom

  3. Hi Beth,
I'm glad you are able to see lots of different things. The castle is unreal. It's hard to believe you are seeing things that old!!! The ruins and the castle - what a chunk of interesting history!!! Kinda makes our high school history books seem pretty boring. I hated history then, but love it now!!! Your time seems to be going fast. I will pray for Linda and quick healing. Take care, Beth. I love you so much!!! Aunt Nancy

  4. Hey Beth,

I've been gone to my daughter's house to play with grandkids for a few days; and yesterday Mark and I went to see a dismal Tiger's game in Detroit. SOO, I'm just now catching up on your great adventure. AWESOME pictures. Now you even get some extra "nanny" experience! Praying Linda is well soon. I think I would have LOVED the castle visit - along with everything else you're doing :-) carry on . . . and God bless. Kris
